Is management an art? Or science?

Is management an art? Or is it science? [It was the class room debate in the “Entrepreneurship and Management” class, and this was my argument saying that, “management is an art.”] For the time being, you forget the term ‘management’. Consider this nature. What do you call this nature as? As an art? Or is it science? We say that, this nature is a beautiful art; it’s a great gift to us by god. We compare this to a great painter’s great painting. But what this nature is actually made up of? It’s nothing other than all those chemical reactions such as, condensation, evaporation, deformation, sedimentation, etc. This is nothing but science. Still, nature is an art. In the same way, “management” ‘IS’ an art; but it has ‘science’. We can define art as, ‘production of something beautiful’ and science as, ‘part of the knowledge which are studied in the systematic way’. Then, what is management? We and our TV channels...

Imagine a TV channel. What comes to your mind?Of course, the breaking news, the reality shows, the serials which have finished thousands of episodes and mainly, the advertisements! My question is, are those shows really "reality shows"? Can you say th

"Books versus the internet"

My mom always complains to the neighbors that I spend more time in front of the PC, in particular the internet, instead of the books.Of course I am. I know most of my friends will be facing such comments. But why? What has made us to get so much interest about internet, rather than books? The answer is that, visual effects affect us a lot:). The internet gives you much better visual effects than books. Most of us feel "bored" while reading the books. But when you get bored while browsing, you will jump to another interesting link. As far as entertainment is concerned, internet stands in first rank(which most of us want). Books can just tell you how to get the entertainment or sometimes, you only should treat "reading" as entertainment. Importantly, browsing directly affects our brain and nerve system in a worse manner. That's where books will lead. Books give your mind calm and peace. So some find reading the books as a better option at free time, rath
