Am I really busy?

This is the mixture of a snippet from my personal dairy and the thoughts of "the person inside me". I had to quote this sheet from my dairy because I was dead in the blogosphere for quite a long time. Here it goes... Date: 5th September 2009. 6:00 A.M : Oh my god! It's already six A.M! I'm too tired! I don't know why I went for the trip with my classmates to Shimasha yesterday! I had hell lot of works being the hostel' student union secretary. Cha! I should be more wiser today... A bath, a prayer- that's all what I can do in half an hour. " Hey, Karthik... Where are you man? We have got class from 7:30 AM. Mad EC folks will attend classes like primary school kids... Six separate note books for six subjects. If I bunk, I will surely get shortage of attendance. Come on... Make up yourself soon...Let's ride your bike only... We will reach college soon" 7:35 A.M: "May I come in mam...? Class. Optical Fiber Communication. Is thi

Logic and common sense

Image
Logically speaking, 2+8=5+5. But, my common sense says that this is not true in many cases. -I'll prove it. You just need to have the common sense to criticise or think over it. There's a task to be completed in a day. There are two people to finish the task. Both of them have the same capacity to do it. They have to divide the responsibilities equally. If one does 20% of the task and the other does 80% , the result will be deviated from the required. So simple! There are many theorems proved so far. Most of them are just ideal and that is logic. Archimedes said- "give me space to stand 'beyond' this earth; I'll lift this whole earth in one hand!" Yeah, it's logically perfect. Does it make any practical sense? Common sense should always overtake the logic. What do you say?

Created one more blog

The idea of creating a blog for my classmates came to my mind when I had a lot of informations to be conveyed to my classmates and all my 100 free messages of a day got cleared! Being a link between the placement office and the classmates is the main reason for creating the blog. The new blog's address is: http://ece2010.blogspot.com.The new blog contains all the informations relevant to the placement activities of final year electronics and communication engineering students of SJCE Mysore, for the year 2009-10. It will be regularly updated as and when it's necessary. I hope all my friends will obtain its maximum profit and get placed!!! To check out the new blog, click here!

Celebrating the century!!!

We call administration as a service! The one who rules should solve the problems of the people. He should be capable of reaching the people before people approach him with problems. We need leaders to inspire us, to give us a winning kick! To achieve this we need able administrators! For this reason, we call administration as a service. Have a look at the recent news papers… Whenever a government completes hundred days or one year or so, we can see the advertisements or the list of achievements of the government being displayed. With unbelievable figure of speech, a simple report of a survey or a draft sketch of a road to be constructed will be described as if they are going to purchase another planet! OMG! Is this an administration or a business??? Business needs advertisements because there’s a fear of competition from the contenders. In other words, advertisement is ‘bluff’ thing which attracts the mass without showing the actual theme behind the product. In hides the realit

Time will answer for all the questions!

Today it's 21st May 2009. Exactly 18 years ago... On this same day Rajeev Gandhi was assassinated by LTTE in Tamil Nadu. It was for the first time that a suicide bomber was used for the purpose of killing a politician. After 18 years now... The same LTTE chief Prabhakaran has been killed! LTTE's control over Srilanka has got diminished. In India once again congress led UPA is getting ready to take oath as the ruling party in India. Time will answer for all our questions. What do you say?

Venugopalaswamy temple & KRS backwaters.

Image
After a fantastic road trip to Melukote, we decided to have one small trip to KRS Backwaters of Mandya district and also to Venugopalaswamy temple. It was 4th of May. I was sleeping, after having the lunch at my hostel mess. Holiday's nap! Aha! By default it will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, unless and otherwise there is a call from a friend for a movie! On that day also, I was in a heavy sleepy mood. By 4:30 pm, my friend Praveen called me up and asked me- "Hey, what if we go to Venugopalaswamy temple today only?" "This guy is a screw"- I thought. It was already the end of the day. Thunders and lightning were there in the sky. "Hey, it's already 4:30pm. What if it rains?" - I asked. “Hey, you can't see the sunset in the morning! You have to go in the evening only. It will be more interesting and amazing" -Praveen at the other end. "Alright then"- me and my roommate decided to join the "Let's Poyi" troupe again

Decibel-09

Electronics and communication department os sjce had organised the department cultural fest : "dECibel-09" on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2009. Some of the interesting facts about the fest:- The punch line of the fest was "After all the noise, ther's some sense." Reason: Almost all the branches had the fest in this semester, our department fest being the last festival for this year. We had many sponsorers (more than 10), inspite of the recession! Fest had the competitions like Management event, Solo dance, Mr. dECibel, Movie quiz, dumb charades, tug of war, gully cricket, etc. On both the days, the auditorium of sjce was over-crowded! Our seniors showed us how a fest can be even if the time which they had for the preparation was very less! The cultural programs which attracted the crowd were- music band, skits, fashion show, dances, and the mimicry. We enjoyed a lot. SJCE-ECians again showed that they can excel even in the non-academic fields too!

Should I vote?

Image
I'm a proud INDIAN, hence I consider myself a right person to blog about this. Throughout the article, I'm asking you just the questions. I'm seriously haunting for the answers. After the independence, we have seen many governments, many elections. As we see today, India is developing day-by-day. I know that the government is the most important part in giving contributions to a nation's development. Of course, we need governments in future too, for the development. I agree that I should vote, for this reason. Have you seen a "Davis cup tennis tournament"? There you will see a "non-playing captain". Do we need a non-playing captain for the nation's development? I'm a so called 'busy' person. I invest myself in more profitable fields. Before doing anything, I always ask a question to myself: "what if I do this?" This time I'm asking you the same question. What will I get

Road trip to Melukote

Image
"Yentha macha, always busy-busy-busy...?" Praveen speaking restlessly at the other end of the phone. I never wanted to be called as a 'busy' guy. " Alright then, I'll come with you this time" - I told. --------------------------------------------------------- Melukote is at a distance of 50 kms from Mysore. We six boys- me, Praveen, Sharan, Lakshmeesh, Keshav and Abhi- started from Mysore, in three bikes by 1:30pm, after the lunch. 'We have one more week for the first internals' -I thought. So, the 'theme' of our trip was just time pass! On the way, we visited "Thonnur lake" - a must see place, at a distance of 40 kms from Mysore. You have to take a left diversion at Srirangapatna, in the Mysore-Bangalore road. Crossing Panadavapura- a small village you will get this lake. The lake is very large, in which swimming is allowed. We enjoyed a lot there. " I think our eyes are the best camera to captu

"Slow and steady wins the race"

Have a look at your neighbors! What can you see? On one side, Many people running in the direction of wind without any target, a school boy who has forgotten the question itself, while chasing the question mark -on the other side, people who, in the name of "rapid technology", have forgotten their own home and who don't know the exact route to the others home, on yet another side!!! All these dilemma have got emerged just from one root- "Fast and rapidness." We have become so 'busy' that while observing others we forget that we also do belong to the same category! Rapidness always leads to two marvelous possibilities. Danger and laziness. All of us know the story of a rabbit which lost to a tortoise in a race, just because of its laziness. Again the cause is its fastness. Panini, the great Hindu scholar, who didn’t even know how to write a single letter in his childhood, but he steadily grew to such a height that one day he wrote the wo

Think about it!

As the placement secretary of my class, I had a chance of attending a one-day workshop on "Global economic recession-its effect on placements", held at Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan. Thanks to the workshop, which showed me the positive aspects of recession. Let me point out some of the points:- > There is no need to worry about the recession;we have to just worry about your performance! > We, as students will reserve a major part of each and everyday as "free time." The time has come to convert all the free times to self-upgradation time. > Every petrol tank has a "reserve" state. Now, we have reached such a state that, we have to utilise the talents-in-rserve. Hidden talents must be expressed. >once you are through this scenario, you are 'settled' in your life. (Hoping that, in future we won't come across such a hectic condition as this).Put all your efforts right now! > Prove yourself that you are still alive . Note tha

Slumdog millionaire, the awards, we the Indians, etc.

22nd February 2009, the night at Kodak studio- Los Angeles was almost like a Filmfare awards distribution function in India!!! - Because there was “Slumdog millionaire” – the Indian movie. Congrats to the “Slumdog millionaire” team!!! ***** Controversies: Remind the time when “The white tiger” of Mr. Aravinda Adiga won the booker prize. Nothing is exceptional to controversies. But what hurts the most is when you become too much extrovert about your own problem, which the third person cannot solve! Kannada daily “Vijaya Karnataka” had published an article named “BHARATHAVANNU BAYYIRI; BOOKER PADEYIRI” -when “the white tiger” had got the Booker. We are well opened about problems. But we feel shy to show the world the achievements of ours! Moreover, we see people around who have become very popular just because they hate their own culture/ .*isms and support the others! Same is the case in “Slumdog millionaire.” Typical India is highlighted. As far as editing

Recession, inflation, unemployement, etc.

I had been to my village in the last January, as I had got my semester holidays. Till then, I was in a sphere of people who were always discussing about all global economic meltdown, job-cuts, placements getting dried and all. So, I thought these holiday times would be the best times to refresh myself from these 'sensitive' discussions. I live in such a village where even BSNL, Vodafone the leading mobile networks don't have their network. People living in such a place won't be aware of these 'hot issues.' -I presumed. Let me point out something which gave me surprising shocks! · Even there the demand and supply ratio was not balanced. The farm-owners were searching for efficient front line labours, but the labours were not intended to work in the farm. Whereas the road-infrastructure work, labours were dying to get into. FYI, the salaries in these two were almost the same. Moreover, working in farm wasn’t putting any responsibilities on t

Enthusiasm and responsibilty.

Imagine your childhood. When you had not yet entered the teenage- you were too enthusiastic about the nature. Unless and otherwise you get a warning from your parents, you were busy in your notorious playings, 'childish' quarrels. Totally, you were eagerly doing all the activities. Time has come now that you have to 'warn' the small children. ie, you have responsibility now. You will never go front to play in muds or quarrel with your neighbor friend for a pencil. Because, you are now 'matured.' When I was coming to Mysore from my native, my friend Praveen quoted: "Maturity overtakes enthusiasm." Yes, I strongly agree with that. One cannot learn the things around so easily after he crosses the young(enthusiastic) age. When you have to 'drive' a vehicle, say a passenger bus, the 'driving force' inside cannot be utilised to drive in a crazy way;because you are responsible for the others lives. What do you say???

Lines from "Angels and Demons"

Image
Let me point out some lines which I liked the most while reading the book "Angels and Demons" by DAN BROWN :- *Religion and spiritualism came into existence in order to fill the gap which science couldn't fill. * Symbols are needed for any organisation. When the organisation vanishes, some others pick-up the good things from them, the symbol being the first thing. *One doesn't need to have cancer in order to analyse its symptoms. * Religious fight[ my god is better than your god ] between two men is much more horrible than the war between two countries for a piece of land. * English is the universal language of science. Many think that mathematics is the universal language of science!!!
